Autumn at Loftus Health

Autumn, and I love the last days of warmth, appreciate the sun when it shows, and look forward to the colours and winding down that autumn brings.

This summer a sore knee and injured Mum in Essex, has meant exercise reduced dramatically for me, especially after all my training earlier on in the year. It made me realise and appreciate just how much I am able to be active during the working day, and thankful for morning dog walks, every step helps! Luckily both issues are resolving with time and regular physio.

I often tell people how our bodies are made to move, and research reinforces the fact that exercise is important for health and longevity. But in today’s world it seems to be encouraged in dramatic bursts which can actually overload and stress the body. We need to honour our body’s design by taking small regular movements rather than trying to undo a days worth of sitting by hitting the gym on the way home.

See my factsheet for further advice on movement hacks and feel free to send them to someone who may be interested. Start small, start today, and remember the best movement is the one you can do consistently.

What IS Functional Nutrition?

This summer I have started to talk to people about my new qualification. FAQ’s will be included in my new website (in development as we speak), but the most asked is what exactly is it, and what can it help?

FN focuses on using food to address health concerns. I will tailor diet and lifestyle choices to a patients own unique needs, looking at the root cause of imbalances, and working towards long term health. It is a personalised approach, rather than one size fits all diet.

I am looking to help clients address issues such as high cholesterol, IBS, Type II diabetes, hormone dysfunction, fatigue, longevity and of course weight loss.

I offer a FREE 15min Discovery Call to anyone interested in hearing more, and to see if we can work together, or ask me when booking for your regular MOT for a little extra time.

THIS MONTH I HAVE TRIED

Immune To Age (non-fiction book by Dr Jenna Macciochi)

Looking at lifespan in different stages (seasons), how the immune system is key to ageing, and interventions to help delay the negative effects. It encourages us to live life more deeply, rather than in a linear way.

Highly recommended.

Rebalance Physio

Jake has been helping me overcome a cartilage problem in my right knee. The battle is real and often fought in my head, but the strength I am gaining is going to help set some great foundations for overall stability.
